What We Do

Your DSTV Installer in Germiston, at Home or at Work

Stands here are worked hard — a boundary wall on two sides, a neighbour's roof a few metres away, an established garden between the house and open sky. That makes the mounting position a decision rather than a default, and it is the decision that determines whether the picture still holds up in February. Browse the four main services below, or see dish and LNB maintenance for a system that is already installed.

Why Us

Installations Made to Survive a Highveld Summer

MultiChoice Accredited

Installations are done to MultiChoice standards, on HD, Explora and Explora Ultra decoders.

Built for Highveld Storms

Braced brackets, sealed outdoor connectors and cable clipped down along its length — because the wind arrives before the rain does, and a mount that flexes loses its aim a millimetre at a time.

Quote Before Work

You know what the job involves and what it costs before anything is drilled. Equipment is itemised separately from labour.

Help After the Job

How It Works

Booking an Installation, Step by Step

1

Tell us your suburb and street

Call or WhatsApp with the suburb, the street and what you need. Street matters here — more than one Germiston-area suburb has a near-twin name elsewhere.

2

Send a few photos

A picture of the wall or roofline, any dish already up there, and the back of the decoder lets us bring the right parts and quote realistically.

3

Agree the quote

We explain the work and the price first, with parts itemised separately from labour. Nothing is drilled or replaced before you have said yes.

4

Install and test

We mount, cable and set up, then check signal quality at every TV point and run you through the basics before we leave.

FAQ

Questions From Germiston Customers

The things people ask us most about getting DStv installed and fixed around Germiston. Something else on your mind? Call or WhatsApp us using the buttons below.

As a guide, a basic single-decoder installation starts from R800, an Explora installation from R1,200 and an Extra View setup from R1,500, with fault-finding call-outs from R550. Equipment such as decoders is extra. Business premises with several screens are quoted per site once we have seen the layout — photos on WhatsApp help.

No. We are an independent installation company, not a MultiChoice office, walk-in centre or agency, and we cannot open accounts, take payments or replace smartcards. For anything to do with your subscription, billing or smartcard, contact MultiChoice on 011 289 2222 or through dstv.com. What we do is the physical side: the dish, the LNB, the cabling, the decoder setup and the fault finding.

Germiston South, Parkhill Gardens, Lambton, Tedstoneville, Klippoortje A.L., Estera, Castleview, Wadeville, Primrose and Dawnview, plus the streets in between. Each of those has its own page explaining what an installation there usually involves. If your address is nearby but not on the list, ask anyway.

Yes, but check first. In a complex the outside wall and the roof are often common property, so the trustees or the managing agent decide whether a dish may go up and where. Some schemes already have a communal dish, in which case the work is a cable from an existing point into your unit rather than a new dish at all. If you rent, get the owner's permission in writing before the appointment.

Yes — reception areas, canteens, boardrooms, workshops and security offices, including sites in Wadeville and the surrounding commercial areas. One dish can feed several decoders through a multi-output LNB or a multiswitch, sized to the number of screens. Showing DStv to staff or customers is commercial use, so the account type is arranged directly with MultiChoice.

It can, completely. A satellite signal needs a clear path, and leaves absorb it — which is why a dish installed in winter, when a tree is bare, can start breaking up once it fills out in summer. The tell is a fault that is worse in the evenings and worse after rain. A meter reading at the dish settles it in a few minutes.

An E48 error means the decoder isn't getting an adequate satellite signal. E48-32 is the weather-related version: heavy rain or a storm is weakening the signal, and it usually clears when the weather does. If it persists after the sky has cleared, the usual causes are a dish that has moved, a failing LNB, water in a connector or damaged cable — we test each to find which.

E16 usually points to a subscription or smartcard issue rather than your dish. Check your account at dstv.com or call MultiChoice on 011 289 2222. If the account is active and the error stays, get in touch and we'll check the decoder.

Unplug it and call us. Lightning can reach equipment through the power supply or down the dish cable, and a dead decoder after a storm is a different job from a signal fault — we check the decoder, the LNB and the TV connection separately. The simplest protection in future is to unplug the decoder when a storm is close. Weather damage is quoted separately.
